NHS Permissive Transfer Applications
Permissive Transfer Information:
Norcross High School is currently accepting Permissive Transfer Applications for the 2025-2026 school year. Any high school student who lives in the Gwinnett County Public Schools service area, can apply to be a Permissive Transfer student at Norcross High School. If accepted, students must remain in good standing academically, behaviorally and with their overall attendance at our school or the permissive transfer will be revoked.
Students who attend Norcross High School often participate in our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and Diploma Program. In addition, NHS students may choose to participate in 3DE by Junior Achievement. You can learn more about these outstanding programs and many other aspects on our school website at NorcrossHigh.org.
The gold “Application for Student Transfer” form is available at schools throughout the school system. Please review the process for making a transfer request on the GCPS website.
There are a few important things to consider when applying for a transfer:
· Prior to applying for a permissive transfer, all students must complete the registration process at their home school (this provides the home school the opportunity to meet the family and student(s) and ensures that the transfer request is being made within the guidelines.)
· Transfer requests should be submitted as early as possible.
· Student transfers are approved for one year only.
· Transportation for students (including students of employees) is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
· Students who have enrolled in another high school prior to Norcross High School or participated in GHSA athletics at another school may not be eligible to participate at Norcross High School for one calendar year.
· Once a transfer request has been granted, the receiving school principal, with written notice, may revoke the transfer based on one or more reasons: discipline, excessive absences/tardies, late pick up of student, false information is given on application form or other records, or other just cause.
Students who receive notification that their request to be a permissive transfer student has been approved should register at Norcross High School at their earliest convenience. Registration information can be found on the Norcross High School website. Look for the Enrollment Process heading to find the link to make a registration appointment.
