2025-2026 Norcross High School - Student Parking Rules and Regulations

Students must abide by the following rules and regulations for the entire school year. Violation of any of these rules may result in the vehicle being towed, the loss of parking privileges on our campus, or a fine depending on the violation and whether or not it is a repeat offense. Fines will increase with each ticket for the same type of offense. If the parking permit is revoked for any reason, the parking fee will not be refunded.

All students must meet the following criteria to have an opportunity to park on campus:

  • Students must be in good academic standing. (grades and attendance)
  • Pay in-full any outstanding fines owed prior to applying for a parking pass.
  • Students must be in good standing for school discipline (AP discretion)
  • Students must have a valid drivers license and insurance

Rules and Expectations:

  1. Parking decals must be permanently attached to the lower corner of the driver’s side rear window (unless you back-in, then place it on  windshield in the bottom left corner).
  2. Attendance is important. Students with 8 or more unexcused absences will have their parking privileges revoked.
  3. Students cannot park in faculty-designated areas at any time including after school hours.
  4. Students are to park in their assigned lot only. Parking in areas not assigned could result in the vehicle being ticketed or towed.
  5. If students are driving a different vehicle, they can see the parking supervisor or inform the commons office upon arrival to school and receive permission.
  6. Horn blowing, tire squealing, fast starts, loud mufflers, and excessive noise are not allowed on campus at any time including before and after school hours. Violation of this rule may lead to parking pass being revoked.
  7. Students must obey the 10 miles per hour speed limit on school property. Pedestrians and school buses always have the right-of-way.
  8. Students must leave their vehicle and the parking lot immediately upon arriving at school. Students may not reenter the parking lot during the day without written permission from an administrator or a checkout pass from the Front Office. Vehicles may not be used as lockers or “lunch” rooms.
  9. Illegal substances such as alcohol, tobacco products, lighters, matches, drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons, gang symbols/literature, etc., may not be in any vehicle on school property. This includes glove compartments, consoles, trunks, and all other areas of the vehicle. The school administration has the right to search all areas of your vehicle when on school property. See page 23 in the student handbook.
  10. Do not cut across parking spaces. All driving must be in the driving lanes between the parking spaces.
  11. Students cannot give, sell, or transfer their parking decals to another student. If this is done, parking privileges will be immediately revoked for all parties.
  12. Students parking improperly, in the faculty parking areas, in the bus lanes, in visitor designated spaces, in restricted or reserved zones, on curbs, or in non-registered vehicles will be fined, may have their parking permit revoked, and/or have their vehicle towed at the student’s expense without prior notification.
  13. If student changes vehicle during school year, the assigned decal is to be removed from the old vehicle and returned to Mr. Marshburn’s office, located in the Commons. We must have updated documentation on the replacement vehicle before a new decal is issued. There is a $10.00 charge for a lost decal.
  14. Parking privileges may be revoked at the end of the first semester based on student failures, attendance, and discipline. This will be determined at the administrators’ discretion.
  15. Parking citations will be issued for infractions of any rule. Fines must be paid by the end of the semester in which the parking citations were issued. Failure to pay will result in loss of parking privileges.
  16. All students that park on Norcross’ campus are required to have liability and personal injury insurance on the registered vehicle throughout the entire school year. In cases of accidents occurring on campus, it is up to the individuals involved to settle damages. The school is not responsible for any damages, loss, or theft to any vehicle or its contents while on campus.
  17. Norcross High School students are not allowed to park around the field house, gym, or near any other athletic facility until after 2:30p.
  18. No parking on grass or gravel spaces near the facilities listed in #17 above.
  19. Seniors (In Synergy): Graduating seniors will have priority for parking.
