Summer Learning
Many students find it beneficial to make up credit for failed courses as soon as possible. Doing so allows them to build on recently learned content and helps ensure they stay on track for on-time graduation.
Credit Recovery
Students who earn a final grade between 50–69 may be eligible for Credit Recovery.
What is Credit Recovery?
Credit Recovery is a targeted opportunity for students to revisit and master specific standards they did not successfully complete in a course. Rather than retaking the entire class, students focus only on the areas where they need additional support.
How to Register for Credit Recovery:
Registration is completed by emailing Maria_M_Pena@gcpsk12.org. If the student has questions, their counselor can confirm eligibility.
Summer School
Students who earn a grade below 50, or those who are not eligible for Credit Recovery, can choose to attend Summer School to earn missed credits.
What is Summer School?
Summer School provides students with the opportunity to retake a full course in an accelerated format. This allows students to recover lost credit and remain on track for graduation.
How to Register for Summer School:
Students who are eligible Summer School recieved registration directions, via mail. If there are additional questions, students can reach out to their counselor.
